Duplication of Knox Road Rail Overpass Bridge to form a dual carriage way in each direction. Works were made more complex by working around live rail below and live traffic to the eastern side of the new bridge. There were multiple rail possessions involved with the project and various key activities such as the installation of bridge girders that required extensive planning from the project team. Critical construction milestones can be summarized into the following: Cast-in-situ reinforced concrete abutments / curtain walls, installation of 29m long Super-T bridge girders under full road and rail possession, reinforced concrete bridge deck, approach slabs, barriers, kerbs and stitch pours, extensive footpath and pedestrian management works, 200 linear meters of 'W' and 'Thire-Beam' traffic barriers.
